Becoming a qualified electrician in Ireland follows a standards‑based apprenticeship that combines on‑the‑job experience with structured off‑the‑job training. The full programme typically takes four years and is regulated by SOLAS.

Registration with SOLAS

All apprentices must be formally registered with SOLAS. Once registered, you begin the national 7‑phase training system that alternates between workplace learning and structured training phases.

Hands‑On Training & Real Experience

During Phases 1, 3, 5, and 7, apprentices gain practical experience across domestic, commercial, and industrial electrical installations, including supervised assessments and skills development.

Off‑the‑Job Training
